Mowing Roster

Mowing Roster
The grass either side of the footpath outside Centra is maintained by resident volunteers. The mowing roster runs on a flexible, shared volunteer basis:

  • Each volunteer covers one month per year, usually shared with another person.

  • You and your roster partner can mow together or separately, anytime during your month.

  • It generally takes around 1 hour to mow, snip, and blow the front lawn.

  • If you’d like to join our mowing team, we’d love to have you!

Volunteer organisers are - John Hickey & Scott Cornish

NOTE: By volunteering, your efforts helps reduce our (your) body corp fees.

VOLUNTEER MOWING GUIDELINES

  1. ACCESSING THE EQUIPMENT – LAWN MOWER, WHIPPER SNIPPER & BLOWER

All of our gardening equipment is stored in the Recycling Room.

  • The Key Box: Located inside the recycling room, next to the roller door (opposite the steel cabinet).
  • The Code: Use 3-digit code -152
  • One Key Fits All: The single key inside the key box opens all padlocks on the mower, snipper, and storage cabinet.

  1. WHAT EQUIPMENT IS AVAILABLE

Everything you need is organized in the Recycling Room:

  • Mower & Whipper Snipper: Locked by chain to the water pipe.
  • The Steel Cabinet & Timber Shelving: Contains the blower, batteries, chargers, and miscellaneous items (like the petrol funnel).
  • PPE (Safety Gear): Safety glasses, ear muffs, and gloves are in the cabinet. Please use them!
  • Supplies: Plastic garbage bags for grass clippings are also stored here.
  1. Quick Start Instructions
  • Fuelling: Fuel is provided in a 20L black jerry can located near the mower.
  • Mower Height: Please leave the mower on the preset level. Only adjust it if the grass is exceptionally long.
  • Batteries: You are responsible for charging the Makita batteries for the whipper snipper and blower during your allocated month.
    • Important: Avoid leaving batteries on the charger permanently, as this can cause damage.

  1. CLEANUP & DISPOSAL

Keeping the grounds tidy is just as important as the mowing itself:

  1. Bag It: Place all grass clippings into the plastic bags provided.
  2. Dispose: Take the bags to the large green refuse bin located in the Bin Chute Room.
  3. Blowing: Use the blower to clear any grass clippings from paths or common areas.
  4. Wrapping Up

When you are finished, please ensure:

  • The mower and whipper snipper are re-chained and locked.
  • All PPE and tools are returned and cabinet is locked.
  • The master key is returned to the wall-mounted key box.

  1. WHO TO CONTACT

If you notice the fuel is running low, or if you encounter any issues with the equipment (broken or faulty equipment, etc.), please reach out to:
