Front Door
There are two ways to access the building.
1. Using your Fob - swipe (hold against) the small black sensor below the intercom until light turns green. Doors will unlock for several seconds to allow you entry.
See - MY UNIT / Fobs & Keys, for more info.
2. Using the intercom to contact resident in their unit, who can then buzz you up - this of course requires that someone be in the unit
The video intercom at the main entrance allows residents to see who they are speaking with before allowing entry.
For Visitors
-
Enter the unit number on the touchscreen number pad.
-
Tap the green bell button.
-
Wait until the resident answers.
-
Speak normally into the microphone.
-
If the resident lets you in, the door will unlock automatically — just pull the door to enter.
- Entry will also allow use of the lift to reach the appropriate floor level. This access is available on either lift.
NOTE: Please hold door when closing.
Make sure entrance doors have latched when closing. Try to avoid letting the door slam, this will prolong the serviceable life of the doors.
Access To Building
Emergency Service Access
- If you have a personal emergency inside your unit, call 000 and tell the operator: “Centra on Middle, 152 Middle Street, Cleveland” along with your unit number.
- Where possible it is your responsibility to let emergency services into the building. Either have someone meet them at the front entrance, or wait by your intercom.
- In the event you are totally incapacitated, emergency services should have access to the building entry codes and instructions to use the lockbox (behind the foyer desk) to access a master lift fob.
Entry to your unit is your responsibility.
- There is a high chance you will at some stage lock yourself out. It is advisable to make arrangements to avoid this occurring. Consider the following options:
- Hide a key (& fob) somewhere not easily found. Not easy, but it can be done.
- Leave a spare key with a trusted relative, friend, or neighbour.
- Install a secure key lockbox (Body Corporate approval is required as it’s on common property).
- If all else fails...
- Contact the building manager (caretaker) - Tim or Tara.
- Contact a BC committee member who may be able to assist.
Foyer & Parcel Deliveries
The foyer was originally intended as an entry space, however it has become the drop off point for packages and other deliveries. Until a better system is arranged, this will remain the accepted method for recieving deliveries.
A neighbourly approach to deliveries –
-
If you see a package left at the front door, please bring it inside and place it behind the counter.
-
If you know the person, consider letting them know that their package has arrived.
-
If the recipient lives on your floor, you might also consider leaving it outside their front door, as this may be safer than leaving it at the counter.
If you see a packages left on counter top, please help by placing on counter desk.
Centra Notice Board
A small Notice Board is available for the use of all residents, and is located opposite the lifts on the ground floor.
