Lounge Room

The lounge at Centra provides a space for residents to relax and connect. Comfortable sofas and armchairs create an inviting setting for conversation or quiet reading, while a large TV and gas fireplace add warmth and entertainment. The lounge features a small kitchen area for preparing light refreshments, and also a small library. The space is ideal for casual gatherings, sports nights, or simply enjoying a peaceful retreat within the building.

The light switch is located on the left, as you enter the room.

NOTE: Please make sure lights are turned off when finished with the room.

Library

We have a small resident library, made up of books donated by members of our community. All residents are welcome to borrow books at their convenience and return them once finished, ensuring they remain available for others to enjoy. Contributions of suitable books are also welcome and help keep the collection varied and enjoyable for everyone. We ask that books be returned neatly to the shelves so the library remains tidy.

There is also a small selection of games, puzzles, that might be of interest (including childrens games).

The library is fitted with a split reverse-cycle system air conditioner, with a ceiling cassette outlet. It can be used to either heat or cool the room.

It should remain off when the room is not in use.

It is controlled by a wall mounted digital control, mounted on the wall behind the counter in foyer.

It can also be controlled by a hand held remote control, which is stored in the overhead kitchen cupboard.

NOTE: Please remember to turn A/C off when finished with room.

Fire Place

The lounge room also features a gas fireplace, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Here’s how to get it started in three simple steps.

Step 1: Check the Gas Bottle - The fireplace runs on an LP gas bottle, which is located in the visitor carpark. Before you start, please check the bottle to ensure the gas is on. To open the valve, turn it slowly anti-clockwise.

Step 2: Find the Remote Control - The fireplace is operated by a simple remote control which you will find it stored in the overhead cupboard above the kitchen bench.

Step 3: Turn it On! Once the gas is on at the bottle, simply press the ON button on the remote control to ignite the fire. It may take a few seconds for the gas to travel through the line and for the pilot light to ignite the main burners, so be patient. You can then use the remote to adjust the flame height and temperature.

To turn it off, just press the OFF button on the remote. For safety, don't forget to turn the gas bottle off as well. (Turn the valve on the gas bottle clockwise to shut it off).

Enjoy the warmth and ambience!

NOTE: Maked sure the gas fire place has been turned off prior to leaving the room.

TV

TV Remote

The TV on the wall is a Samsung Frame TV, it is designed to display art when you're not watching it, however as there is no internet connection at this stage, this feature is unavailable. It can however be used as a regular Free To Air TV.

Using the Remote Control

The remote has a simple layout and is easy to use. The most important button to understand is the Power button:

  • A quick press switches the screen between TV Mode and Art Mode.

  • A long press turns the TV completely off (a truly black screen).

You'll also notice the remote doesn't need batteries! It has a small solar panel on the back. To charge it, simply leave it face down when not in use, or near a window or under a light. If for some reason batteries are dead, use a standard USB C phone charger to recharge.

Quick Guide

  • To Watch TV: Press the Home button on the remote to bring up your apps and channels.

  • To Display Art: When you’re finished watching, give the Power button a quick press.

  • To Turn Off Completely: Press and hold the Power button for a couple of seconds.

Kitchen Facilities

There are small appliances and crockery in cupboards, sufficient to make tea/coffee. There is also a microwave for heating etc. Please keep tidy.
