IMPORTANT INFO CONCERNING OUR BUILDINGS SMOKE & FIRE ALARMS
Your Unit - If the smoke alarm in your unit is activated, it will only set off an audible alarm within your unit. It does not trigger an evacuation alarm, nor will it cause the fire brigade to attend (unless someone rings them). In the event you have an actual fire that requires the Fire Dept, YOU ring 000.
Common Areas (including Basement Carparks) - If a smoke alarm is activated in any common area, including either basement, it will activate an audible alarm, and an automated command to evacuate the building. It does NOT cause the fire brigade to attend (unless someone rings them).
IMPORTANT - In the event your unit alarm is activated and it is under control (eg burnt toast, cooking mishap), do NOT open your front door to clear the smoke, it will more than likely set off the building alarm and trigger an evacuation procedure. Instead, open your sliding doors and windows to dispel smoke.
Basement Carparks - If the fire sprinkler system is activated within either basement, an audible alarm will sound, together with an automated command to evacuate. It will also automatically notify the Fire Brigade who WILL attend.
