General Waste Bins (Green Top)
Your Garbage
Rubbish Disposal
Rubbish may be disposed of in one of two ways:
-
Via the garbage chute on your floor, or
-
By placing rubbish directly into the waste wheelie bins in the bin room.
Garbage chutes are located on all floors (Levels 1–7) and discharge into a commercial-size wheelie bin in the bin room, located in the visitor car park. Your unit key provides access to the bin room roller door. Ensure the roller door is closed before leaving.
Ground Floor Residents
There is no garbage chute on the ground floor. Residents must take rubbish directly to the bin room, which is located on the same level.
Garbage Chute Use
-
All organic and non-recyclable waste must be securely bagged before use.
-
Do not place loose glass bottles, jars, or containers into the chute. These must be bagged to prevent breakage and excessive noise.
-
Recycle wherever possible. Refer to Containers for Change initiative for eligible items.
Large Items
-
Do not place bulky or oversized items in the bins. These bins service 53 apartments and fill quickly.
-
Large items must be taken directly to a local refuse or transfer station. Nearest council recycle & waste centre - Old Cleveland Road East, Birkdale. Click here for Map
Pet Waste
-
All pet waste (including kitty litter and lawn mats) must be double-bagged before disposal.
-
Dispose of pet waste via the chute or directly into the landfill bins.
-
Do not dispose of kitty litter or dog litter in toilets. It hardens in plumbing and can cause serious blockages to the sewage system.
